Archchic was born in the late summer of 2024, as the world slowly emerged from the long shadow of a global pandemic.
But its roots reach much deeper—across a decade, or perhaps an entire lifetime.
Our founder, Alice Qin, is a seasoned furniture designer with over ten years of experience. Formerly the lead designer at Homary, Alice created dozens of best-selling products across categories like kitchen islands, dining tables, and outdoor furniture. Yet her connection to furniture extends far beyond her career:
She was born into a family of carpenters.
Her grandfather, a revered craftsman in his village, created furniture not only for daily life but also for life's milestones—weddings, births, and generational transitions. His work was never just functional; it became an emotional anchor for the people he served.
Alice grew up in the open landscapes of rural China, where nature and imagination flowed freely. As a child, she draped fabrics over her dolls and sketched her first designs, instinctively blending form and feeling.
Later, she left behind a path in mechanical engineering to study industrial design, following a deeper calling.
In her early years, Alice fell in love with Italian furniture and the quiet craftsmanship of designers like Hans Wegner. His iconic creations—the China Chair, the Wishbone Chair—taught her a vital truth:
